Infratek Group is sold to VINCI Energies, a global player in concession and constructing
Infratek is a leading total supplier in the Nordic region in the fields of electrical grids, lighting and railway systems. Infratek is also a market leader when it comes to building charging stations for electrical cars. For local infrastructure, the Group covers the need for a strong presence and efficient logistics. Infratek plays an important role in society by ensuring functionality in fundamental infrastructure. It employs around 1,350 people and generated revenue of more than €300 million in 2016. The company carries out its business activities in Sweden, Norway (headquarters) and Finland. Infratek will remain as a group integrated in the network of Omexom, and kept together to be able to handle the Nordic markets.
“VINCI Energies have followed our Nordic markets closely for several years. They want to expand their business in to the Nordics within our industry – and they have selected Infratek to achieve their goals. VINCI Energies’s acquisition of Infratek shows their confidence in our people, our competence and what we have accomplished over the years, especially in the recent years as Triton-owned”, says Lars Bangen, CEO of Infratek.
VINCI Energies focuses on connections, performance, energy efficiency and data to fast-track the rollout of new technologies and support two major changes: the digital transformation and the energy transition. With their strong regional roots and agile organisational structure, VINCI Energies’ business units boost the reliability, safety and efficiency of energy, transport and communication infrastructure, factories and buildings.
VINCI Energies Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yves Meignié said: "With this acquisition, VINCI Energies is continuing to extend and consolidate its operations in Northern Europe, particularly in Norway and in Finland where we had no former location. And develop expertise on new markets ahead regarding renewable energies. It reinforces Omexom as a major player in the European market."
“We would like to thank the management team, the employees and all other stakeholders for their contributions to Infratek's development. Triton has been the owner of Infratek for more than four years and we view this as an appropriate time for an ownership change to an industrial owner. Infratek and Vinci Group fit well together and the combined business should have a good future," says Peder Prahl, Director of the General Partner to the Triton fund.
The acquisition is subject to approvals of the completion authorities in Norway and Sweden.
